After a long break away from racing, NASCAR is set to hit the track next Sunday at Darlington Raceway for the Darlington 400 at 3:30pm et on Fox. This means fantasy NASCAR is back underway a week from today!
We are in the process of updating the schedules with intentions of continuing to run all three series for fantasy NASCAR this season. NASCAR has released a short-term racing schedule for multiple races at Darlington Raceway and Charlotte Motor Speedway which is available here. Some challenges are ahead, especially with the possibility of multiple double-header weekends.
Here are some notes on how the fantasy season will operate as soon as racing resumes next Sunday:
- Normally, the eight driver roster locks at the beginning of the first practice of the weekend. However, moving forward for races without practice or qualifying, the eight man rosters will remain open up until the green flag on race day.
- If a practice or qualifying is scheduled, the eight man roster will lock at the beginning of that session. Starters and bench drivers will be able to be swapped right up to before the green flag.
- For midweek races, the same procedures above will be in effect.
- All the races which were missed through March and April have been moved to the end of the schedule for now. The schedule on our site will be updated as information on the new racing schedule is released.
We will continue to run all three top national series. However, I am leaving the possibility of shutting down the Xfinity Series and Gander RV & Outdoors Truck Series for the remainder of the season depending on how this goes the first couple weeks. Updating the rosters multiple days a week is going to be a challenge for the Cup Series alone.
I hope you are excited as we are to get the season back underway in one week from now! Stay tuned for more updates as we prepare for the 2020 NASCAR racing season to resume.
